About us
The story, vision and legal foundation of Shikshanova Foundation.
Our story
Shikshanova Foundation began with a simple conviction: education should not stop at textbooks. It should also build life skills, employability and an understanding of the technologies shaping the world, including artificial intelligence.
We started in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, and have since extended our work across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh and all 38 districts of Bihar, with a long-term goal of operating nationally.
As a Section 8 company, we operate on a fully not-for-profit basis. Every rupee and every hour of effort goes directly into the future of the children and young people we serve.
Our vision
To establish Shikshanova Foundation among India's leading education organisations — delivering a national-level curriculum, AI education, entrepreneurship programmes, student placement, teacher training and skill development as one connected system.
Our mission
To put practical, high-quality learning within reach of every student we work with, and to make sure that learning leads somewhere — to a skill, an internship or a job.
The values we work by
These are the standards we hold ourselves to in every classroom and every partnership.
Dignity
Every student is treated as capable. We teach to strengths, not to deficits.
Usefulness
If a lesson does not help a student in real life or at work, it does not belong in our curriculum.
Transparency
Our registrations, governance and reports are published openly on this website.
Reach
We go to the districts and schools that are usually left out, not only the easy ones.
Sectors we work in
These are the areas in which we are actively engaged, currently covering all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh and all 38 districts of Bihar.
Children
Supporting the all-round development of children.
Education and literacy
Strengthening foundational learning and literacy.
Rural development
Widening opportunity at the village level and tackling poverty.
Vocational training
Hands-on training tied to real work.
Skill development
Raising the employability of young people.
Women and marginalised groups
Training designed to widen access for those who need it most.
Our objects
Under our Memorandum of Association, we pursue the following objectives across India, entirely on a not-for-profit basis.
Education for underprivileged children
Creating learning opportunities for children from economically weaker backgrounds.
Welfare of children in need
Working for the wellbeing of poor and vulnerable children.
Awareness programmes
Organising awareness campaigns and workshops in the communities we serve.
